The Dakhla city
Dakhla ou Ad Dakhla is a city in Morocco with about 67,468 inhabitants[1]. It is about 550 km south of El Aaiún on a narrow peninsula of the Atlantic Coast. It is the capital of the Oued Ed-Dahab-Lagouira region.
Dakhla was founded as Villa Cisneros in 1502 by Spanish settlers during the expansion of their Empire.
The city is one of the last border posts before the Mauritania. An airport harms(serves) the city from Casablanca at least three times a week.
History
The colony(summer camp) which dates 1502, was understood(included) in the enclaves which a papal bubble granted to the Spaniards east of the Azores. The place(square), recolonisée, at the request of the Spaniards, by the Captain of infantry Emilio Bonelli Hernando, in 1884, was baptized Villa Cisneros. It was one of the stages of the line organized by Pierre-Georges Latécoère, in the 1920s and 1930s, between Toulouse and Saint Louis of Senegal then to South America, to forward the mail. Numerous pilots(drivers) of the Airmail made it stopover, among which Jean Mermoz, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry or still Henri Guillaumet.
Water sports
Since 2003, the city welcomes windsurfeurs and kiteurs from the whole world thanks to various articles appeared in the biggest magazines (Surfing, Wind) praising the exceptional spotlights of the region. Every year, the windsurfers biggest are going to train for it. The water stays all year round in a very considerable temperature: 25°C. The surfers then come to cross(spend) there three winter months. The spotlight of Foum Labouir is very renowned for its perfect and particularly long right. According to the champions, Dakhla is the most beautiful spotlight of the world just after the Hawaiian Islands.
Other sport of Dakhla is the peach(fishing) in surfing casting, that is of the edge. It is rare to fish for courbines of no more than 45 kg there.
Divers
A festival which puts in the honor the sea and the desert takes place in March.
The region welcomes every winter of thousands of campsites(campings) - forklift truck operators of all Europe. These pensioners tell to appreciate the sweetness of the climate and the landscape there amazing of the marriage of the sea and the desert.
The city is situated in around thirty kilometres in the North of the Tropic of Cancer, quite as Havana or the Hawaiian Islands.
